Camelot Special Events & Tents is hiring a Truck Driver. Reliable and safe Delivery Drivers are essential for the execution of our business at Camelot Special Events & Tents, Inc. Delivery Drivers are responsible for safely delivering rental equipment to the correct locations in a manner that adds value to the customer experience. Drivers are expected to report daily to correctly and efficiently complete deliveries and pickups for our valued customers.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Safe and time-efficient delivery and pick up of rental equipment, in addition to duties as assigned within the warehouse
  • Loading and unloading of event equipment to/from the truck
  • Confirm the correct equipment is being delivered and retrieved in the correct quantities to and from events
  • Professional and courteous interactions with customers, the public, and coworkers
  • Cooperation and communication with the Event Specialists in the Office
  • Keep records of deliveries and make notes of any inconsistencies
  • Assist in the set-up of event equipment when necessary
  • Safely operate and maintain a clean delivery vehicle
  • Responsibly operate a delivery vehicle in any kind of weather, including snow
  • Work cooperatively and respectfully with all personnel and customers with varying personalities and backgrounds

Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to safely operate 24-foot box truck through residential, city, and highway roads
  • Valid Unites States Driver’s license required
  • Department of Transportation Medical Card required
  • Must be able to pass a drug test prior to employment
  • Must be able to report to work by 7:00 a.m.
  • Must be able to work overtime when needed
  • Must be able to work weekends when needed
  • Must be able to work on holidays when needed
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Flexible personal schedule, especially during high-volume months
  • Demonstrated ability to correctly and efficiently complete deliveries and pickups
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to follow instructions from experiences coworkers and supervisors
  • Ability and willingness to communicate with the Office
  • Ability to speak both English and Spanish is a significant plus, but not required

Hours:
Full Time Expected Hours: 40 per week with overtime during busy season

Position Location: Wakefield, MA

Qualifications/Skills Preferred:
Able to work directly with customers in friendly, helpful manner. Safe driving skills a must. Ability to lift and carry 70 pounds.

Volunteer Position Available: Nursing Home Volunteers

Position Description:
Community Host/Senior Partner for Skilled Nursing Facilities. Malden and Melrose Locations
Expected Time Commitment (Hours/month): 1-2 Hours per week

  • Qualifications/Skills Preferred:
  • Compassionate, patient, good listening skills.
  • Volunteer to provide conversation, book readings, knitting, board games or share a musical talent. Hours are flexible.
  • Community Service Hours for High School Students.
  • Free Dementia Training provided to all participants.
  • Compassion and desire to make a difference in someone’s life is all that is required!

Action for Boston Community Development Inc. (ABCD)
Volunteer Position Available: Tax Volunteer

We need volunteers for our annual tax assistance program. Each year, ABCD helps thousands of families to prepare their tax returns for FREE through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. This year’s program will run from January 22, 2019- April 16, 2019. Trainings in tax law and VITA guidelines will be provided for free to volunteers. Let us know if you would like to help!

  • Expected Time Commitment (Hours/month): 20-30 hours/ month
  • Position Location: Varies (Medford, Malden and Everett)
  • Qualifications/Skills Preferred:
    • Must possess strong oral communication skills
    • Bilingual in a language spoken by ABCD clients desired (Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Portuguese, Arabic, highly preferred

Housing Families: Do you like helping children learn?
Housing Families GREAT Youth and Families program is looking for awesome tutors for our after school program. Volunteers must be high school aged or older. We are here Monday through Friday 3-6 with the addition of an extra hour Wednesday when program is 3-7. Currently we serve children pre-school-12th grade. Training and lots of support are provided and supplemental trainings are offered throughout the year! The commitment is one hour a week for 6 months or for students one hour a week for a semester.
